Saturday, June 24 at 7 pm, we continue our summer concert series with The Rolling Stones Live in Havana. The British rockers attracted a million people in Havana in 2016, the same week as President Obama became the first US President to visit Cuba in 88 years. As the Stones took to the stage under a perfect ‘Havana Moon’ in front of an ecstatic crowd, everyone knew that this was a life changing cultural moment. Mick Jagger welcomed the massive crowd: “Finally the times are changing, Cuba we are so happy to be here” and joked with his band-mates, describing them as “the revolutionary Ronnie Wood, drummer Charlie Che Watts, and compadre Keith Richards”. The Daily Telegraph calls it, “an epic and history making performance!” See the magic on Shelter’s big screen with surround stereo!

Location: LifePath, Rinconada de la Aldea 29

The practice of meditation gathers, centers, and calms the mind. It allows one to see through the mind’s conditioning and thereby live more fully in the present moment.

The SMA Meditation Community is an open, flowing collection of people from different traditions (including various Buddhist lineages) who share a love of sitting in silence. We also share a love of spiritual community free of doctrine or belief, based in equality and mutual respect. Everyone is welcome. Because friendships with like-minded people support the inner path, we usually meet informally after sittings to share ideas and come to know one another.

Although the forty-minute silent meditations begin at 10:10 and end at 10:50, please feel free to come and go quietly at any time. Meditation assistance is available before or after the sit.

For more in-depth meditation instruction, ask Ann Barden (Vipassana) or Jerry Steward (general) at jermer@hotmail.com, 154-0877.

All offerings are free, donations welcome. For more information or to be on our mailing list, contact: SMAMC@lifepathretreats.com

10:00am-12:00pm
Cost: $300 pesos
Location: Meet in the Jardin across from the Parroquia
Contact: www. historicalwalkingtour.org
Website: www.patronatoproninos.org

Patronato Pro Niños conducts a walking tour of historic San Miguel.

On this tour, English-speaking guides walk participants through San Miguel's glorious past, showing them the city center, its historical buildings and many churches. The tour, which includes an in-depth look at the interior of the Parroquia, takes approximately two hours and covers a ten-block area. It's a definite "must" for any visitor to San Miguel!

Regularly scheduled tours take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Groups form in the Jardin across from the Parroquia (large church) at 9:45 AM, and leave promptly at 10:00 AM.

Fee benefits the Patronato Pro Niños, a non-profit foundation, which provides medical and dental care for the needy children of SMA.

Volunteers needed

To provide spiritual strength to alleviate the feeling of isolation and loneliness by means of providing social interaction in their weekly lunch serving physical and spiritual food.

We value their belief and respect their human dignity and help restore hope in the last portion of their life.

Is a charitable organization founded in February 1989 . Each Wednesday for the past 23 years something very unique and empowering takes place in the sunny courtyard behind the Parroquia. Long tables covered with red and white checkered tablecloths are set up under laurel trees.

The tables are numbered according to age 65-95; the elders will be served fírst. Before the food is served, their thin old voices are lifted in a song of gratitude...

How Elon Musk Became the Real ‘Iron Man’

By David Johanssen

Big dreams and the determination to make them come true - these are the trademark qualities of Elon Musk. Creator of PayPal, sustainable energy champion, alternative automotive innovator and space technology explorer, he’s a man whose visions are literally out of this world. It's not surprising that he built America's first viable fully-electric car company. “It's all about sustainability,” he insists. “Tesla needed to break the mold and change the perception that electric cars were boring but could be hot and desirable.” He did just that and then his other company, SpaceX, became the first commercial company to launch cargo while recycling the rockets to make space travel more economically viable. This Wednesday at Shelter Theater, we will be discussing the many innovations of this amazing futurist as we present, Elon Musk: How I Became the Real Iron Man’.

Mary Jane Miller is organizing an 8 week directed group for prayer and and contemplation at St Paul's Anglican Church . The focus will be on Advent first and conclude with the Christmas season. We will ask what it means to come into the world, and the spiritual life which is activated as a result. Centering prayer, contemplative prayer and the prayer of quiet are all going to be explored in an effort to open ourselves to listening to God and remembering whose we are.
Beginning December1st and January 19th at St Paul's Church
The format will be simple, 20 minutes of quiet, 20 minutes of conversation, discussion observation, etc and finalize the time with another 20 minutes of quiet. 4 weeks in Advent and 4 weeks following Christmas, 50 pesos donation per session and there is no requirement you come to them all.
Every Thursdays 4 PM
IDEAS to be EXPLORED
Advent tells us Christ is near and
Christmas tells us Christ is here.

Christmas represents God's brilliant idea to become human and walk among us! Why do such a thing? Because we need an image of love for it to grow within us, to show us the way and to have a reference point for what is true, good and lasting love.
Come and prepare a place within yourself. Epiphany is the Christian celebration of what other religions call enlightenment. Enlightenment is the inward realization and consciousness of being identified with who we really are. We are individual expressions or manifestations of God, a wave of energy, light and purpose which flows through us.
"All great spirituality teaches about letting go of what you don't need and who you are not. Then, when you can get little enough and naked enough and poor enough, you'll find that the little place where you really are is ironically more than enough and is all that you need. At that place, you will have nothing to prove to anybody and nothing to protect.
All are welcome to share tier insights and experiences. Peace
