Mary Jane Miller is organizing an 8 week directed group for prayer and and contemplation at St Paul's Anglican Church . The focus will be on Advent first and conclude with the Christmas season. We will ask what it means to come into the world, and the spiritual life which is activated as a result. Centering prayer, contemplative prayer and the prayer of quiet are all going to be explored in an effort to open ourselves to listening to God and remembering whose we are.
Beginning December1st and January 19th at St Paul's Church
The format will be simple, 20 minutes of quiet, 20 minutes of conversation, discussion observation, etc and finalize the time with another 20 minutes of quiet. 4 weeks in Advent and 4 weeks following Christmas, 50 pesos donation per session and there is no requirement you come to them all.
Every Thursdays 4 PM
IDEAS to be EXPLORED
Advent tells us Christ is near and
Christmas tells us Christ is here.

Christmas represents God's brilliant idea to become human and walk among us! Why do such a thing? Because we need an image of love for it to grow within us, to show us the way and to have a reference point for what is true, good and lasting love.
Come and prepare a place within yourself. Epiphany is the Christian celebration of what other religions call enlightenment. Enlightenment is the inward realization and consciousness of being identified with who we really are. We are individual expressions or manifestations of God, a wave of energy, light and purpose which flows through us.
"All great spirituality teaches about letting go of what you don't need and who you are not. Then, when you can get little enough and naked enough and poor enough, you'll find that the little place where you really are is ironically more than enough and is all that you need. At that place, you will have nothing to prove to anybody and nothing to protect.
All are welcome to share tier insights and experiences. Peace

This Thursday, May 25th at 8 pm at the Angela Peralta Theater, the Camerata Mazatlan will offer the last of their concerts in Spring Season 2017 of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan with the program "Influences of Baroque", under the direction of maestro Manuel Ramos.

El maestro Ramos, a native of Saltillo, Coahuila, was one of 96 musicians that integrated the Symphony Orchestra on YouTube, first group created online to give a concert under the baton of the renowned director Michael Tilson Thomas, of the Symphony Orchestra of London.

Invited by the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan, Manuel Ramos arrives as both soloist and concert director to lead this program that includes "Brandenburg Concerto N ° 2 F major BWV 1047" by Johann Sebastian Bach with special performances by soloists: María Vakórina, on flute; Nina Farvarschuk, on the violin; Vilma Domínguez, on oboe and Mauro Delgado on trumpet.

The program includes the "Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in F major op. 102 " by Dmitri Shostakóvich with the intervention of Cesar Arturo Penin, who despite his only 15 years of age, has managed to become a virtuoso of piano from the lessons of his maestro and coach Antonio González.

In “Arias and ancient dances”, by O. Respiigui and the "Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 5 in A major" by W.A. Mozart, master Manuel Ramos will perform as soloist on the violin, closing this long-awaited musical evening.

Tickets for "Influences of Baroque" have a cost of $100, $180, $200 and $220 pesos, and are available at the box office of the Angela Peralta Theater from 9 am to 3 pm and from 5 to 7 pm. Info: 982-4446 x103.

The practice of meditation gathers, centers, and calms the mind. It allows one to see through the mind’s conditioning and thereby live more fully in the present moment.

The SMA Meditation Community is an open, flowing collection of people from different traditions (including various Buddhist lineages) who share a love of sitting in silence. We also share a love of spiritual community free of doctrine or belief, based in equality and mutual respect. Everyone is welcome. Because friendships with like-minded people support the inner path, we usually meet informally after sittings to share ideas and come to know one another.

Although the forty-minute silent meditations begin at 10:10 and end at 10:50, please feel free to come and go quietly at any time. Meditation assistance is available before or after the sit.

For more in-depth meditation instruction, ask Ann Barden (Vipassana) or Jerry Steward (general) at jermer@hotmail.com, 154-0877.

All offerings are free, donations welcome. For more information or to be on our mailing list, contact: SMAMC@lifepathretreats.com

Location: LifePath, Rinconada de la Aldea 29

Website: www.lifepathretreats.com

Regularly scheduled tours take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Groups form in the Jardin across from the Parroquia (large church) at 9:45 AM, and leave promptly at 10:00 AM.

Qi Gong - A gentle movement practice for everybody -- and every body. Learn this easy way to calm the mind and heal your body.

Qi Gong, pronounced “Tchi Kong”, is a cousin of Tai Chi Chuan and is also part of one of the five branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It means “control (or work) of the energy".The practice consists of slow and non-violent movements, combined with breath exercises and concentration of the mind. Thanks to the breath work, this thousand-year-old discipline helps the circulation of energy through the body. The regular practice of Qi Gong calms and relaxes the mind. It reinforces the neuromuscular system and makes it more flexible. It optimizes the functions of the organism and sustains the strength of self-recovery. It guarantees good health and vitality.A practice for everybody, regardless of sex, religion, age or physical condition.Drop-ins welcome

Volunteers needed

To provide spiritual strength to alleviate the feeling of isolation and loneliness by means of providing social interaction in their weekly lunch serving physical and spiritual food.

We value their belief and respect their human dignity and help restore hope in the last portion of their life.

Is a charitable organization founded in February 1989 . Each Wednesday for the past 23 years something very unique and empowering takes place in the sunny courtyard behind the Parroquia. Long tables covered with red and white checkered tablecloths are set up under laurel trees.

The tables are numbered according to age 65-95; the elders will be served fírst. Before the food is served, their thin old voices are lifted in a song of gratitude...
