To inaugurate the brand-new, $60 million arena in the city of Leeds, England in 2013, "The Boss" blew the roof off the place with over 3 hours of his hard-driving bluesy American sound. The Guardian raves, "The Boss rocked a floodlit stadium with the energy of a young man but a voice full of dirt, guts, experience and soul." Shelter's got the best screen and sound system in town to make you feel like 'you are there' with this incredible concert video! 150 pesos.

Sundays at 9am
We play at the diportiva just up from Mega, and in front of the entrance to Los Frailes.

A paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.

The Basics
1. A fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
2. Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net.
3. Played with a paddle and a plastic ball.

A Game for Everyone
The USAPA currently estimates there are now over 400,000 players actively playing pickleball.

The practice of meditation gathers, centers, and calms the mind. It allows one to see through the mind’s conditioning and thereby live more fully in the present moment.

The SMA Meditation Community is an open, flowing collection of people from different traditions (including various Buddhist lineages) who share a love of sitting in silence. We also share a love of spiritual community free of doctrine or belief, based in equality and mutual respect. Everyone is welcome. Because friendships with like-minded people support the inner path, we usually meet informally after sittings to share ideas and come to know one another.

Although the forty-minute silent meditations begin at 10:10 and end at 10:50, please feel free to come and go quietly at any time. Meditation assistance is available before or after the sit.

For more in-depth meditation instruction, ask Ann Barden (Vipassana) or Jerry Steward (general) at jermer@hotmail.com, 154-0877.

All offerings are free, donations welcome. For more information or to be on our mailing list, contact: SMAMC@lifepathretreats.com

Patronato Pro Niños conducts a walking tour of historic San Miguel.

The tour, which includes an in-depth look at the interior of the Parroquia, takes approximately two hours and covers a ten-block area. It's a definite "must" for any visitor to San Miguel!

Regularly scheduled tours take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Groups form in the Jardin across from the Parroquia (large church) at 9:45 AM, and leave promptly at 10:00 AM.

Fee benefits the Patronato Pro Niños, a non-profit foundation, which provides medical and dental care for the needy children of SMA.

Volunteers needed

To provide spiritual strength to alleviate the feeling of isolation and loneliness by means of providing social interaction in their weekly lunch serving physical and spiritual food.

We value their belief and respect their human dignity and help restore hope in the last portion of their life.

Is a charitable organization founded in February 1989 . Each Wednesday for the past 23 years something very unique and empowering takes place in the sunny courtyard behind the Parroquia. Long tables covered with red and white checkered tablecloths are set up under laurel trees.

The tables are numbered according to age 65-95; the elders will be served fírst. Before the food is served, their thin old voices are lifted in a song of gratitude...

Wednesday, July 26th at 5 pm, Bob Dylan: Don’t Look Back. In 1965, filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker accompanied Bob Dylan to England to make a film about the singer/songwriter's British tour. At the time, no one could have known how fortuitous Pennebaker's timing would prove to be! Roger Ebert praises, “Unencumbered by voice-over or any sort of forced narrative, the result is an intimate and riveting look at Dylan unfiltered, a portrait of the artist as a 24-year-old superstar.” This is the classic every Dylan fan must see to understand his roots.

Mary Jane Miller is organizing an 8 week directed group for prayer and and contemplation at St Paul's Anglican Church . The focus will be on Advent first and conclude with the Christmas season. We will ask what it means to come into the world, and the spiritual life which is activated as a result. Centering prayer, contemplative prayer and the prayer of quiet are all going to be explored in an effort to open ourselves to listening to God and remembering whose we are.
Beginning December1st and January 19th at St Paul's Church
The format will be simple, 20 minutes of quiet, 20 minutes of conversation, discussion observation, etc and finalize the time with another 20 minutes of quiet. 4 weeks in Advent and 4 weeks following Christmas, 50 pesos donation per session and there is no requirement you come to them all.
Every Thursdays 4 PM
IDEAS to be EXPLORED
Advent tells us Christ is near and
Christmas tells us Christ is here.

Christmas represents God's brilliant idea to become human and walk among us! Why do such a thing? Because we need an image of love for it to grow within us, to show us the way and to have a reference point for what is true, good and lasting love.
Come and prepare a place within yourself. Epiphany is the Christian celebration of what other religions call enlightenment. Enlightenment is the inward realization and consciousness of being identified with who we really are. We are individual expressions or manifestations of God, a wave of energy, light and purpose which flows through us.
"All great spirituality teaches about letting go of what you don't need and who you are not. Then, when you can get little enough and naked enough and poor enough, you'll find that the little place where you really are is ironically more than enough and is all that you need. At that place, you will have nothing to prove to anybody and nothing to protect.
All are welcome to share tier insights and experiences. Peace

Why do so many Central Americans risk their lives to come to the U.S.? What happens to the families and communities they leave behind and on the road to a better life? Would a change in immigrant policy open the floodgates or satisfy demand for low-skilled labor while bringing hardworking people out of the shadows to give them basic human rights? You’ll want to have these questions answered!

Next Friday, July 28th at 5 pm Shelter presents the Sundance film festival award winner for both cinematography and directing: Sin Nombre (The Nameless), the adventure of a young Honduran woman, hungering for a brighter future, as she crosses Mexico to the Unites States. According to The Washington Post, ”Sin Nombre is pure filmmaking: a great story told in beautiful images.” After the film we will discuss the current immigration debate and the courageous immigrants who make the dangerous trip north.
